(a) Any school district that elects to become a self-insurer under the provisions of K.S.A. 72-1891, and amendments thereto, may transfer moneys from its general fund to the special reserve fund of the district as provided by K.S.A. 72-5170 , and amendments thereto. (b) Any community college that elects to become a self-insurer under the provisions of K.S.A. 72-1891, and amendments thereto, may transfer such amounts from its general fund to the health care services reserve fund or the disability income benefits reserve fund, or the group life benefit reserve fund, or all three, as may be deemed necessary to meet the cost of health care services or disability income benefits, or group life insurance claims, whichever is applicable.
