Criminal penalties for violations of act

Every person, firm, association or corporation who shall in any manner engage in, or conduct a public auction, without having first obtained a license as hereinbefore provided, or who shall knowingly advertise, represent or hold forth any sale of goods, wares or merchandise to be conducted contrary to the provisions of this act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined in any sum not less than two hundred dollars ($200) and not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000), to which may be added imprisonment in the county jail for not less than thirty (30) days and not more than one hundred eighty (180) days.
