(a) K.S.A. 40-2440 through 40-2442, and amendments thereto, shall be known as the Kansas health care prompt payment act and shall apply to any policy of accident and sickness insurance issued or renewed in this state. (b) The provisions of the Kansas health care prompt payment act shall take effect and be in force on and after January 1, 2001.
