(a) Obstruction of a medicaid fraud investigation is intentionally engaging in one or more of the following during an investigation of any matter pursuant to K.S.A. 21-5925 through 21-5934 and K.S.A. 75-725 and 75-726, and amendments thereto: (1) Falsifying, concealing or covering up a material fact by any trick, misstatement, scheme or device; or (2) making or causing to be made any materially false writing or document knowing that such writing or document contains any false, fictitious or fraudulent statement or entry. (b) Obstruction of a medicaid fraud investigation is a severity level 9, nonperson felony.
