The auditor shall annually make a report to the board of county commissioners, stating under appropriate heads the total amount of claims allowed by him during the year, and shall also make an estimate, from the best source of information he can obtain, and report the same to the board of county commissioners, of the amount of money required, in his judgment, to be raised by taxation for the next ensuing year for county purposes.
