The statement made, as provided in K.S.A. 19-520, and amendments thereto, shall be signed and sworn to by the treasurer. Any treasurer who shall swear falsely in any such statement shall be guilty of perjury, and on conviction shall be confined in the custody of the secretary of corrections for one year, and such treasurer's office shall be declared vacant.
