Maintenance and repair; tax levy, use of proceeds; special fund

The board of county commissioners in any county which has established a home for the aged as provided for in K.S.A. 19-2106, and amendments thereto, is hereby authorized to make an annual tax levy upon all taxable tangible property in the county for the operation, maintenance and repair of said home and to pay a portion of the principal and interest on bonds issued under the authority of K.S.A. 12-1774, and amendments thereto, by cities located in the county. All county home revenues and moneys received pursuant to this section, except for an amount to pay a portion of the principal and interest on bonds issued under the authority of K.S.A. 12-1774, and amendments thereto, by cities located in the county, shall be deposited in the home for the aged operation, maintenance and repair fund which fund is hereby created in the office of the county treasurer of such county. For the period of time from the effective date of this act until January 1, 1974, there shall also be deposited in the home for the aged operation, maintenance and repair fund funds in the county welfare fund which have been raised for the purpose of the operation, maintenance and repair of such homes for the aged operated by the county board of social welfare immediately prior to the effective date of this act. All expenditures from such fund shall be for the operation, maintenance and repair of such home.
