A violation of the provisions of section 72.3 shall,in addition tocriminal liability,render the violator liable, personally and on the violator’s bond, ifany, to liquidated damages in the sum of one thousand dollars for each violation, to inure to and be collected by the state, county, city,school corporation, or other municipal corporation of which the violator isan officer or deputy.
