All public offenses which are not felonies are misdemeanors. Misdemeanors are aggravated misdemeanors, serious misdemeanors, or simple misdemeanors. Where an act isdeclared to be a public offense, crime or misdemeanor, but no other designation is given, such act shall be a simple misdemeanor.
