Petition — other pleading

The petition shall be filed in the name of the state of Iowa. The accused shall be named as defendant, and the petition, unless filedby the attorney general, shall be verified. The petition shall state the charges against the accused and may be amended as in ordinary actions, and shall be filed in the office of the clerk of the district court of the county having jurisdiction. The petition shall be deemed denied but the accused may plead thereto.
