Foreign wills as a muniment of title

After the expiration of the five-year period from the date of the death of the decedent, an exemplified copy of a will which has not been denied probate in Iowa, and of the order admitting itto probate in a foreign state or country, may be recorded in the office of the county recorder of any county where real estate owned by the testator islocated. The record of such a will and of the order admitting the will to probate shall operate to dispose of said property as though said will had been admitted to probate in this state. Nothing contained inthis section shall operate to defeat the rights, acquired prior to such record, of purchasers for value whose rights are shown of record.
