Iowa Code § 626.94

Property unsold — optional procedure

Subject to the provisions of section 626.93, when property is unsold for want of bidders, the levy stillholds good; and, ifthere be sufficient time, itmay again be advertised, or the execution returned and one issued commanding the officer to sellthe property, describing it, previously levied on, to which a clause may be added that, ifsuch property does not produce asum sufficient to satisfy such execution, the officer shall proceed to make an additional levy, on which the officer shall proceed as on other executions; or the plaintiff may, in writing filed with the clerk, abandon such levy, upon paying the costs thereof; in which case execution may issue with the same effect as if none had ever been issued.
