The plaintiff shall, from the time such property is so levied on, have a lien on the interest ofthe defendant therein, and may commence an action by equitable proceedings to ascertain the nature and extent of such interest and to enforce the lien; and, ifdeemed necessary or proper, the court may appoint a receiver under the circumstances provided in the chapter relating to receivers.
