1. a. The clerk of the district court shall be solely responsible for transmitting the record on appeal to the clerk of the supreme court in civiland criminal proceedings. The clerk of the districtcourt shall only transmit the record to the clerk of the supreme court upon the request of the appellee, appellant, the attorney for the appellee or appellant, or the appellate court. b. The requirements of paragraph “a” shall not be delegated to another party. The appellee, appellant, the attorney for the appellee or appellant, or any agent of the appellee or appellant shall not transmit any part of the appellate record to the clerk of the supreme court. 2. For purposes of this section, the record on appeal consists of the original documents and exhibits filed in district court, transcripts of the proceedings, and a certified copy of the docket and court calendar entries prepared by the clerk of the district court in the case under appeal. Exhibits of unusual size or bulk are not required to be transmitted by the clerk of the district court unless requested by the appellee, appellant, the attorney for the appellee or appellant, or the appellate court. 3. Ifa request ismade pursuantto subsection 1, the clerk of thedistrict courtshall transmit any of the remaining record to the clerk of the supreme court within seven days of the filing of the final briefs in the appeal.
