1. The supreme court consists of seven justices. A majority of the justices sitting constitutes a quorum, but fewer than three justices is not a quorum. 2. Justices of the supreme court shall be nominated and appointed and shall stand for retention in office as provided in chapter 46. Justices of the supreme court shall qualify for office as provided in chapter 63.
