As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires: 1. “Livestock” means an animal belonging to the bovine, caprine, equine, ovine, or porcine species, ostriches, rheas, emus, poultry, or fish or shellfish. 2. “Veterinarian” means a person who practices veterinary medicine under a valid license or temporary permit as provided in chapter 169. 3. “Veterinarian’s lien” or “lien” means a veterinarian’s lien created under section 581.2A.
