The auditor shall keep the book of plats showing the number of lotand block, or township andrange,divided intosections and subdivisions as occasion may require, andshall designate thereon each piece of real estate and the name of the owner. The plats shall be lettered or numbered so that they may be conveniently referred to in the transfer book.
