1. After a nomination paper has been filed, itshall not be returned to the person who has filedthe paper, nor shall anysignature or otherinformation be addedto the nominationpaper. 2. a. A person who has filed nomination petitions with the state commissioner may withdraw as a candidate not later than the seventy-sixth day before the primary election by notifying the state commissioner in writing. b. A person who has filed nomination papers with the commissioner may withdraw as a candidate not later than the sixty-ninth day before the primary election by notifying the commissioner in writing. 3. The name of a candidate who has withdrawn or died on or before the final day to withdraw as a candidate for that office shall be omitted from the certificate furnished by the state commissioner under section 43.22 and omitted from the primary election ballot.
