Board membership — qualifications — term

1. The board shall consist of three members unless the membership is increased to five as provided in section 331.203. 2. A supervisor must be a registered voter of the county or supervisor district ofthe county which the supervisor represents. 3. Theofficeof supervisor is an elective officeexceptthat ifa vacancy occurs on the board, asuccessor may beappointed to the unexpired term as provided in section 69.14A, subsection 1,paragraph “a”, ifthe population of the county islessthan one hundredtwenty-five thousand basedon the most recent federal decennial census and ifthe county does not include the main campus of an institution of higher learning governed by the state board of regents. 4. The term of officeof a supervisor is four years unless a change in the supervisor district representation plan or in the number of supervisors on the board requires the election of one or two supervisors for an initial term of two years.
