Prohibited plates — certificates

1. A person shall not display or cause or permit to be displayed, or have in the person’s possession, a vehicle identification number or component part number except as provided in this chapter, or a canceled, revoked, altered, or fictitious registration number plates, registration receipt, or certificate of title,as the same are respectively provided for in this chapter. 2. A person who violates this section commits a simple misdemeanor.
