The interstate 80 bridge crossing the Mississippi river between the states of Iowa and Illinoisshall be known as the “Schwengel Bridge” in honor of Fred Schwengel, who served for five terms as a member of the general assembly of the state of Iowa and was elected to the Congress of the United States in 1954, 1956, 1958, 1960, 1962, 1966, 1968, and 1970.
