Insurance — supplies — textbooks

The board of directors may provide and pay out of the general fund to insure school property a sum as necessary, and may purchase dictionaries, library books, including books for the purpose of teaching vocal music, maps, charts, and apparatus for the use of the schools as deemed necessary by the board of directors for each school building under itscharge; and may furnish schoolbooks to indigent children when they are likely to be deprived of the proper benefits of the school unless so aided.
