Decrease in number of directors

1. A change from seven to five directors shall be effected in a district at the first regular school election after authorization by the voters in the following manner: a. Ifat the first election in the district there are four terms expiring, two directors shall be elected. At the second election in that district, ifthree terms are expiring, three directors shall be elected. b. Ifat the first election there are three terms expiring, one director shall be elected. At the second election in that district, iffour terms are expiring, three directors shall be elected for a four-year term and one director shall be elected for a two-year term. 2. Ifsome or allof the directors are elected from director districts, the board shall devise a plan to reduce the number ofmembers sothat as nearly as possible one-half ofthe members of the board shall be electedbiennially andso that eachdistrict will be continuously represented.
