A complete permanent record of the money transmitted to the treasurer of state under section 218.68, showing by whom and with whom the money was left,the amount, the date ofthe death of the owner, the owner’s reputed place of residence before the owner became a resident ofthe institution, the date on which the money was transmitted to the state treasurer, and any other facts which may tend to identify the intestate and explain the case, shall be kept by the department, and a transcript of the record shall be sent to and kept by the treasurer of state.
