The board may issue a license under this chapter without examination to an applicant who furnishes satisfactory proof that the applicant meets all of the following requirements: 1. Holds a license from a similar dental board of another state, territory, or district of the United States under requirements equivalent or substantially equivalent to those of this state. 2. Has satisfied at least one of the following: a. Passed an examination administered by a regional or national testing service, which examination has been approved by the dental board in accordance with section 147.34, subsection 1. b. Has for three consecutive years immediately prior to the filing of the application in this state been in a legal practice of dentistry or dental hygiene in such other state, territory, or district of the United States. 3. Furnishes such other evidence as to the applicant’s qualifications and lawful practice as the board may require.
