Fulfilling Iowa’s need for dentists

1. Thedepartment, in cooperation with adental nonprofit health service corporation, shall create the fulfilling Iowa’s need for dentists matching grant program. 2. Funding for the program may be provided through the health care workforce shortage fund or the fulfilling Iowa’s need for dentists matching grant program account created in section 135.175. The purpose of the program is to establish, expand, or support the placement of dentists in dental or rural shortage areas across the state by providing education loan repayments. 3. The department shall contract with a dental nonprofit health service corporation to implementand administer the program. Thedental nonprofithealth service corporation shall provide loan repayments to dentists who practice in a dental or rural shortage area as defined by the department. For futureamendment tosubsection2effectiveuponthedatethatthedepartment ofhealthand human servicesnotifiesthegeneral assemblyand theCode editorof thereceiptoffederalapprovalfora Medicaidsupplementalenhanced payment forthe purposesof maximizingfederalfundingopportunitiesforgraduatemedicaleducationandtoincreasethenumberofmedicalresidenciesinthestate, see2025Acts,ch 120,§15,21
