Iowa Code § 125.79

The court shall direct the clerk to furnish at once to the respondent’s attorney, copies of the application pursuant to section 125.75 and the supporting documentation, and of the court’s order issued pursuant to section 125.78, subsection 3. If the respondent is taken into custody under section 125.81, the attorney shall also be advised of that fact. The respondent’s attorney shall represent the respondent at allstages of the proceedings and shall attend the commitment hearing. [82 Acts, ch 1212, §7]
