Sec. 0.5. (a) A learner's permit issued in the form of a physical credential expires two (2) years after the date of issuance. A learner's permit expires upon the bureau receiving notice of the death of the holder or upon issuance of a subsequent physical credential. (b) A motorcycle learner's permit expires one (1) year after the date of issuance. The bureau may not issue more than three (3) motorcycle learner's permits to an individual within a five (5) year period. A motorcycle learner's permit expires upon the bureau receiving notice of the death of the holder. (c) A commercial learner's permit expires one hundred eighty (180) days after the date of issuance. The bureau may issue not more than three (3) commercial learner's permits to an individual within a twenty-four (24) month period. A commercial learner's permit expires upon the bureau receiving notice of the death of the holder. (d) The fee to renew a permit that expires under this section is the applicable fee to issue the permit under this article. [Pre-2016 Revision Citation: subsection (b) formerly 9-24-8-3(c).]
