Design and content of license plate or placard for persons with disabilities

Sec. 2. (a) Except as provided under subsection (b), the bureau shall design a license plate and placard for display in or on a vehicle used to transport a person with a disability. A license plate or placard must bear the following: (1) The official international wheelchair symbol, a reasonable facsimile of the international wheelchair symbol, or another symbol selected by the bureau to designate the vehicle as being used to transport a person with a disability. (2) An expiration date.       (b) The bureau shall design a placard for display in or on a vehicle used to transport a person identified under section 4(a)(3) of this chapter that will designate the placard as being issued to a person who is eligible under section 4(a)(3) of this chapter. A placard under this subsection shall not bear an expiration date. A placard under this subsection must be gold in color with blue lettering and contain the words "Disabled Hoosier Veteran".
