Indiana Code § 9-18.5-5-2

Qualifying vehicle exempt from parking fees and certain penalties

Sec. 2. (a) An individual qualifying under section 1 of this chapter or issued a permanent parking placard under IC 9-18.5-8-4 (a)(3) may not be: (1) charged a fee for parking in a metered space; or (2) assessed a penalty for parking in a metered space for longer than the time permitted.       (b) This section does not authorize parking of a vehicle in a parking space during a time when parking in the space is prohibited if the prohibition is: (1) posted; and (2) authorized: (A) by ordinances in cities and towns; or (B) by order of the Indiana department of transportation.       (c) The following are not entitled to the parking privileges authorized by this section: (1) An individual other than the owner of the vehicle displaying a disabled Hoosier veteran license plate authorized by this chapter. (2) Except when the individual is transporting an individual qualified under IC 9-18.5-8-4 (a)(3), an individual other than an individual qualified under IC 9-18.5-8-4 (a)(3) and displaying on a vehicle a permanent parking placard issued to an individual qualified under IC 9-18.5-8-4 (a)(3).
