Sec. 8. (a) Except as provided in subsections (b) and (c), the members of the board shall serve without compensation, but shall be paid their actual expenses for travel conducted in the interest of the board. (b) The fiscal body of the entity may provide a per diem for the members of the board in an amount that does not exceed thirty-five dollars ($35) for each whole or part day a member is engaged in board activities. The members of the board shall also be paid their actual expenses under subsection (a). (c) If the authority is established by more than one (1) entity, the fiscal bodies of the entities, acting jointly, may provide a per diem for the members of the board in an amount that does not exceed thirty-five dollars ($35) for each whole or part day a member is engaged in board activities.
