Indiana Code § 8-2.1-17-16

"Taxicab"

Sec. 16. "Taxicab" means a motor vehicle that: (1) is designed and constructed to accommodate and transport not more than six (6) passengers in addition to the driver; (2) does not operate over any definite and designated routes within the corporate boundaries of a city or town and the suburban territory of a city or town; and (3) transports passengers to the destination designated by the passengers at the time of their transportation. The term does not include a personal vehicle operated by a TNC driver.
