Indiana Code § 8-1-2-113

Emergency alteration, amendment, or suspension of rates or services

Sec. 113. (a) The commission may, when it considers necessary to prevent injury to the business or interests of the people or any public utility of this state in case of any emergency to be judged by the commission, temporarily alter, amend, or with the consent of the public utility concerned, suspend any existing rates, service, practices, schedules, and order relating to or affecting any public utility or part of any public utility in this state. The alterations, amendments, or suspensions of the rates, service, schedules, or practices made by the commission shall apply to one (1) or more of the public utilities in this state or to any portion thereof, as directed by the commission, and shall take effect at the time and remain in force for the length of time prescribed by the commission.       (b) The commission may adopt rules under IC 4-22-2 to carry out this section.
