Promotion of purchase of supplies manufactured in the United States; rules

Sec. 21. (a) This section does not apply to the state lottery commission created by IC 4-30-3-1 .       (b) A governmental body shall adopt rules to promote the purchase of supplies manufactured in the United States.       (c) Rules adopted under subsection (b) shall provide that supplies manufactured in the United States shall be specified and purchased unless the governmental body determines that any of the following apply: (1) The supplies are not manufactured in the United States in reasonably available quantities. (2) The price of the supplies manufactured in the United States exceeds by an unreasonable amount the price of available and comparable supplies manufactured outside the United States. (3) The quality of the supplies is substantially less than the quality of comparably priced available supplies manufactured outside the United States. (4) The purchase of supplies manufactured in the United States is not in the public interest.
