Examinations without notice; disclosure; offense

Sec. 18. All examinations under this chapter may be made without notice to the audited entities or officers whose accounts are to be examined, and without notice to any clerk, deputy, employee, or other person employed in or connected with the office or the business of such an audited entity or officer. A person who recklessly communicates knowledge of any proposed examination of any public account: (1) that the board has determined to make without notice under this section; and (2) to the officer in charge of the account or to any other unauthorized person; commits a Class B misdemeanor.
