Licensing for teeth floating; restrictions

Sec. 12. (a) Except as provided in sections 6 and 6.5 of this chapter, the commission may issue a license to an individual who: (1) is not a veterinarian; and (2) meets one (1) or more of the following: (A) The individual is licensed in another state to provide teeth floating. (B) The individual holds a current certification from the International Association of Equine Dentistry. (C) The individual holds a current certification from the Equine Dental Providers of America. (D) The individual provides at least five (5) letters of recommendation from trainers who have personally employed the individual's services for teeth floating.       (b) An individual licensed under subsection (a) may not do the following: (1) Administer a sedative drug to a horse. (2) Use a power tool to perform teeth floating services. (3) Perform teeth floating on incisor teeth. (4) Extract teeth from a horse except for loose deciduous teeth.   IC 4-31-7 Chapter 7.
