Sec. 6. (a) The civil rights commission established by IC 22-9-1-4 shall provide staff and administrative support for the commission. (b) Except as provided in section 6.5 of this chapter, expenses incurred under this chapter shall be paid from funds appropriated to the civil rights commission. (c) The governor shall appoint a voting member of the commission to serve as the commission's chairperson until January 1, 2025. For each calendar year beginning after December 31, 2024, the voting members of the commission shall annually elect a chairperson from among the voting members of the commission.
