Executive secretary; compensation; bond; duties

Sec. 9. (a) The flood control board shall appoint an executive secretary. The executive secretary may not be a commissioner of the board before the completion of the flood control works, but may be after their completion.       (b) The salary of the executive secretary shall be fixed by the flood control board.       (c) The executive secretary may be required to furnish bond in the amount the flood control board finds necessary. The cost of the bond may be borne by the district.       (d) The executive secretary: (1) is the custodian of the records of the district; (2) shall assist the board in the performance of its duties, as directed by the board; and (3) shall certify copies of the official records and files of the district that may be required of the executive secretary by this chapter, or by any person ordering copies and paying the reasonable cost of transcription. Certification of a record by the executive secretary is prima facie evidence of the record's accuracy. [Pre-Local Government Recodification Citation: 19-4-18-6 part.]
