Sec. 3. A police officer or firefighter who is a member of the police or fire department of a special service district is not subject to residency requirements but must: (1) have adequate means of transportation into the jurisdiction served by the member's department; and (2) maintain telephone service to communicate with the department.   IC 36-8-4.5 Chapter 4.5.
