Sec. 17. A firefighter who is a member of the fire department of a fire protection territory is not subject to residency requirements but must: (1) have adequate means of transportation into the jurisdiction served by the member's fire department; and (2) maintain telephone service to communicate with the member's fire department.   IC 36-8-19.5 Chapter 19.5.
