Sec. 2. The following definitions apply throughout this chapter: (1) "Eligible political subdivision" means any of the following: (A) A county. (B) A municipality. (C) An urban mass transportation system (as described in IC 36-9-4 ). (2) "Metropolitan planning area" of the MPO means the aggregate geographic territory of the following political subdivisions: (A) A county having a consolidated city. (B) All eligible political subdivisions in a county having a consolidated city. (C) All counties immediately adjacent to a county having a consolidated city. (D) All eligible political subdivisions in a county immediately adjacent to a county having a consolidated city. (3) "MPO" means the Indianapolis metropolitan planning organization established by section 3 of this chapter.
