Financial assistance of board of school trustees; amount

Sec. 8. (a) The board of school trustees of a town may provide financial assistance to a children's museum. The assistance shall be: (1) paid from the funds of the school town; and (2) in an amount each year not to exceed the product of twenty-five cents ($0.25) multiplied by the ADA (as defined in IC 20-18-2-1.5 (a)) of children enrolled in grades 1 through 8 in the public schools of the town as reported in the last preceding annual report to the secretary of education.       (b) The assistance under subsection (a) is payable annually. The board of school trustees may continue the assistance annually if the board of trustees or other governing body of the children's museum has accepted by resolution the provisions of this chapter and has filed a certified copy of the resolution with the board of school trustees before the date of the first payment.
