Sec. 1. The following definitions apply throughout this article: (1) "Electronic" means relating to technology having electrical, digital, magnetic, wireless, optical, electromagnetic, or similar capabilities. (2) "Legal material" means, whether or not in effect: (A) the Constitution of the State of Indiana; (B) the Indiana Acts (session laws); (C) the Indiana Code; (D) an agency rule; (E) an official opinion of the attorney general; (F) an opinion of the court of appeals or the supreme court; or (G) court rules adopted by the supreme court. (3) "Official publisher" means: (A) for the Constitution of the State of Indiana, the legislative services agency; (B) for the Indiana Acts (session laws), the legislative services agency; (C) for the Indiana Code, the legislative services agency; (D) for an agency rule published in the Indiana Administrative Code, the legislative services agency; (E) for a rule not published in the Indiana Administrative Code, the state agency adopting the rule; (F) for an official opinion of the attorney general, the attorney general; (G) for an opinion of the court of appeals or the supreme court, the supreme court; or (H) for court rules adopted by the supreme court, the supreme court. (4) "Publish" means to display, present, or release to the public, or cause to be displayed, presented, or released to the public, by the official publisher. (5) "Record" means information that is inscribed on a tangible medium or that is stored in an electronic or other medium and is retrievable in perceivable form. (6) "State" means a state of the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands, or any territory or insular possession subject to the jurisdiction of the United States.
