Sec. 4. If a sheriff neglects or refuses on demand to pay over any money collected on execution to the execution creditor, the execution creditor's agent or attorney, or the execution debtor when entitled, the sheriff is liable for the amount withheld. [Pre-1998 Recodification Citation: 34-1-40-4.]
