Sec. 5. (a) The judges of the Bartholomew superior courts: (1) may make and adopt rules for conducting the business of the Bartholomew superior courts not repugnant to the laws of the state or rules of the supreme court; and (2) have all powers incident to a court of record in relation to the attendance of witnesses, punishment of contempt, and enforcement of its orders. (b) In addition to the powers described in IC 33-29-1-4 , the judges of each superior court may: (1) give all necessary certificates for the authentication of records and proceedings of each court; and (2) make and execute certificates of qualification and moral character of persons petitioning to be commissioned as notaries public.
