Medal or decoration awarded for military service

Sec. 41. (a) The attorney general may not sell a medal or decoration awarded for military service in the armed forces of the United States.       (b) The attorney general, with the consent of the respective organization under subdivision (1), agency under subdivision (2), or entity under subdivision (3), may deliver a medal or decoration described in subsection (a) to be held in custody for the owner, to: (1) a military veterans organization qualified under Section 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code; (2) the agency that awarded the medal or decoration; or (3) a governmental entity.       (c) Upon delivery under subsection (b), the attorney general is not responsible for safekeeping the medal or decoration.
