Sec. 6. Upon: (1) the foreclosure of a recorded mortgage in a court of any county having jurisdiction in Indiana; and (2) the payment and satisfaction of the judgment as may be rendered in the foreclosure proceeding; the prevailing party shall immediately after satisfaction of the judgment record the satisfaction of the mortgage on the records of the recorder's office of the county where the property is located. The record in foreclosure and satisfaction must show that the whole debt, secured by the mortgage, has been paid. The recorder must be paid a fee of not more than the amount specified in IC 36-2-7-10 (c)(1) in each case of foreclosure requiring satisfaction. [Pre-2002 Recodification Citation: 32-15-6-4.]
