Indiana Code § 31-37-13-5

Findings required where delinquent act would be felony if committed by adult; notification to office of judicial administration

Sec. 5. (a) If a finding of delinquency is based on a delinquent act that would be a felony if committed by an adult, the juvenile court shall state in the findings the following: (1) The specific statute that was violated. (2) The class or level of the felony had the violation been committed by an adult.       (b) If a finding of delinquency is based on a delinquent act that would be a serious violent felony (as defined in IC 35-47-4-5 ) if committed by an adult, the juvenile court shall, notwithstanding IC 31-39-1 , transmit the finding to the office of judicial administration for transmission to NICS (as defined in IC 35-47-2.5-2.5 ) in accordance with IC 33-24-6-3 .
