Sec. 24. (a) Each circuit court clerk shall do the following: (1) Before January 1, 2007, receive support money assigned to the state and paid under the terms of a court order in the clerk's jurisdiction and pay the money to the Title IV-D agency within the time limits established by P.L.93-647, as amended, and any related regulations that are promulgated. (2) Maintain all records concerning the payment or nonpayment of support money that have been assigned to the state and transmit the records to the Title IV-D agency upon request. (3) Contract with the Title IV-D agency for the performance and the remuneration for the performance of duties prescribed in this section. (b) Beginning January 1, 2007, for purposes of subsection (a)(1), each circuit court clerk may accept only support money that is paid in cash.
