Sec. 5. (a) A county election board may apply for payments to reimburse the county for expenditures made to secure and monitor facilities where voting systems and electronic poll books are stored. (b) If the county election board submits an application under subsection (a), the application must be filed with the secretary of state in a form prescribed by the election division. (c) The secretary of state, with the consent of the election division, may approve an application filed under this section and reimburse the county for all or part of the expenditures documented in the application.
